Futures Relatively Unchanged Ahead of Housing Data

US markets were little changed Tuesday morning ahead of housing data from Case-Shiller. Dow futures were up slightly with a 15-point increase, or 0.05%, while Nasdaq & S&P futures were down 0.18% and 0.06%, respectively. The 10-year is unchanged from yesterday’s close at 3.54% and oil is up slightly to $73.30.


ASIA: Asian markets were mostly positive on the news that Alibaba plans to split its $220 billion empire into six main units that will individually raise funds and explore initial public offerings. The Hang Seng Index ended the day up 216 points, or 1.11%, while Shanghai ended the day in the red with a 0.19% drop.

  • Japan’s Nikkei was up slightly with a 41-point gain.

EUROPE: Markets in Europe were up slightly halfway through the trading day. London’s FTSE index was up 15 points, or 0.20%, France and Germany were also up 0.15 and 0.14%, respectively.
