This Week: Housing Data

Monday

A busy week starts on Monday with pending home sales at 10:00 AM which economists believe will show a 1.0% increase to start 2023.

Tuesday

A big day for housing data with the release of the Case-Shiller index at 9:00 AM which economists believe will show home price growth, for the 20-city index, slowing to 6.0% to end 2023. Also at 9:00 AM, there FHFA home price index is expected to show home price growth slowing to 7.5% in December. At 10:00 AM, consumer confidence is expected to rise to 108.5 in February.

Wednesday

At 7:00 AM, all eyes will be on mortgage demand data after demand plummeted to a 28-year low. At 10:00 AM, Construction spending is expected to rise 0.2% and ISM manufacturing data is expected to show a slight improvement after the index fell to an almost three-year low.

Thursday

At 8:30 AM, jobless claims are expected to stay under 200k but are expected to rise to 197k. At Noon, we will get weekly mortgage rates from Freddie Mac.
