All About Jobs To Start 2023

No rest for the weary. It might be a short week but we have a lot of important data being released this week.

TUESDAY

The first day back to work kicks off with Census Bureau releasing its construction spending report for November which economists believe will show spending fall 0.4% after falling 0.3% in October.

WEDNESDAY

A busy day that starts at 7:00 AM with the last report on mortgage demand for 2022. At 10:00 AM, we get our first jobs data for the week with the JOLTS report for November which economists expect to show job openings falling to 10M flat. At 2:00 PM, we get the FOMC minutes from the December meeting.

THURSDAY

Two job reports to start the day. At 8:15 AM, ADP is expected to show 145,000 jobs created in December and 15 minutes later jobless claims are expected to rise to 230k to end 2022. Also at 8:30 AM, the trade deficit is expected to drop to $76.1B.

FRIDAY

Nonfarm payroll is expected to show 200k jobs created in December which would mean just over 4.5M new jobs in 2022.
