US Futures up Ahead of Jobs & Housing Data

US futures were green across the board ahead of jobs and housing data this morning. Dow futures are up 0.58%, or 170 points, followed by S&P and Nasdaq futures up 0.30% and 0.09%, respectively. Jobless claims are expected to rise to 232k while on the housing front existing-home sales are expected to fall 2.3% and mortgage rates are expected to continue to climb.

Europe is mostly flat even with the political turmoil in England. The DAX was down slightly halfway through the trading day while the FTSE was up slightly with a 0.10% gain as brand new PM Liz Truss could be out of a job before she hits the 50-day mark.

  • Asia finished the day down across the board with Hong Kong taking the brunt of it as the Hang Seng closed down 1.4% followed by the Nikkei and Shanghai down 0.92% and 0.31%, respectively.
