It was a great month for the Cape Fear region with big monthly jumps in volume in August, according to the Cape Fear Realtors monthly housing report.
Closed home sales and pending home sales each almost jumped 70% month-over-month in August.
- Closed home sales jumped to 1,704 in August, this is up 68.7% from July but is still down 19.4% from one year ago.
- Pending home sales reached 1,703 in August, this is up 69.6% from July but is still down 7.75% from one year ago.
New home sales. New home sales up big, just not as much as the other two categories, with a 43.7% jump from July. However, new home sales are still down 14.4%.
On The Up & Up. Bucking national trends, year-over-year price gains continue to grow reaching 17.8% in August thanks to a 1.5% month-over-month jump to $367,500.
