Habitat For Humanity Targets Black Homeownership

Habitat for Humanity has announced they will spend $25 million to help create three million more black homeowners by 2030, according to the Wall Street Journal…(WSJ)

  • Habitat for Humanity said the $25 million will be spent over the next three to five years. It will pay for programs at its 1,100 local affiliates around the country, including financial coaching for prospective homeowners. The funds would also be used to help change laws in neighborhoods where multiunit homes aren’t allowed, which tend to keep lower-income families out. 

This announcement comes on the heels of a generous donation of $436 million from billionaire MacKenzie Scott. The initiative will be called Advancing Black Homeownership…
