NIMBYs Don’t Think They Are Problem

Susan Kirsch is a 78-year-old retired teacher who lives in a small cottage home in Mill Valley, Calif. has been fighting a new development that would add 20 much needed townhomes to her neighborhood. However, Mrs. Kirsch doesn’t believe the current housing crisis is a caused by a lack of housing supply…(New York Times)

In her telling the state’s problems have little to do with the lack of housing — a diagnosis that unites basically every liberal and conservative economist along with the Obama, Trump and Biden administrations — but instead blames investors who buy single-family houses, big technology companies, and inequality generally.

Oddly enough that two of her three responses would be fixed by building more houses…
