The Great Resignation Continues

The number of job openings hit a series high and the number of quits also reached a series high in March, according to the latest Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey…(BLS)

  • Job openings hit a series high of 11.5 million on the last business day of March.
  • This was up from the previous month and above economist projections that openings would remain unchanged at 11.26M.

Separations continued their climb in March thanks to an increase in quits as the great resignation continues…

  • The number of quits edged up in March to a series high of 4.5 million. This was above economist projections of 4.36M.
  • Layoffs were little changed at 1.4M.
