The precipitous rise in gas prices this last week may not have helped President Joe Biden but it also didn’t hurt him in the latest CBS News poll…(CBS News)
- On the economy, 38% of voters said they approved of Biden while 62% disapproved. This was unchanged from last week.
The most important issue, economic or not, was inflation (26%) and Biden saw a slight improvement this week…
- On inflation, 31% of voters approved of Biden’s handling of inflation, up 1% from last week. This is still well underwater with disapproval at 69%.
- The third most important issue was the economy and jobs (20%) which followed after Ukraine (22%).
SIDE NOTE: On the question of what or who is responsible for the rise in gas prices the most popular answer was the Biden administration’s policies at 46%.
As usual, two of the top three issues that voters care about are economic ones. Democrats can not be feeling good about the midterms as we enter spring with President Biden polling in the low 30s on those very issues.
