Nationally, the seven-day average for new, confirmed Covid-19 admissions appears to have at least plateaued, data from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services show. New admissions in the Northeast, where Omicron exploded quickly after its first U.S. detection in early December, appear to have been on the decline for about a week, the data show.
