Jobless Claims Fall Under 700k

Jobless claims fell more than expected giving hope that the promised economic turnaround may finally be here. (DOL)

  • Claims totaled 684,000 for the week ended March 20th. This was a decrease of 97,000 from the previous week’s revised level of 770,000.
  • The 4-week moving average fell to 736,000, a decrease of 13,000 from the previous week’s revised average.

Economists surveyed by The Wall Street Journal  had projected jobless claims would fall slightly to 735,000 (WSJ)
