Consumer Confidence Up in June

Consumer confidence jumped up in June, according to the latest data from The Conference Board Consumer Confidence Index… (CBCI)

  • The main index now stands at 127.3 up from 120.0 in May.
  • Other Indexes were up in June as well. The Present Situation Index rose 9 points to 157.7. & The Expectations Index was up 6 points to 107.0.

Lynn Franco, Senior Director of Economic Indicators at The Conference Board, said in a statement, “Consumer confidence increased in June and is currently at its highest level since the onset of the pandemic’s first surge in March 2020,”

Joe Weisenthal from Bloomberg had a good point about inflation. While the media and economists seem obsessed with inflation debate, consumers are not. “Inflation fearmongering not changing the public’s perception that things are getting better and better.” Twitter
