Market Futures Down Slightly Ahead of Housing Data

US Markets were down slightly ahead of housing data. Dow futures are down 0.36%, or 117 points, followed by S&P and Nasdaq futures down 0.30% and 0.10%, respectively. Today is the big day for housing as we get the all-important Case-Shiller’s Home Price 20-City Index which is expected to show home prices slowing to 14.4% y-o-y growth in September. Consumer confidence is projected to fall to 106.5 in October.

  • Markets are down slightly in London as a new Prime Minister is seated with the FTSE down 0.60% halfway through the trading day and in Germany the DAX was down 0.77%.
  • China closed the trading down slightly with the Hang Seng Index falling 0.10% and the Shanghai Index down 0.04%. Japan’s Nikkei finished in the green for the second day this week up 1.0%.
