Secretary Pete Buttigieg’s Sunday

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg comes the closest to the Full Ginsburg this weekend with appearances on This Week and Face the Nation. Buttigieg will discuss the allocation of infrastructure spending thanks to the trillion-dollar infrastructure bill passed last year. The Washington Post noted this put Buttigieg in the driver’s seat of spending that is “giving him immense power to alter the national landscape for generations. ” The secretary will also discuss energy prices and the democrat’s hopes with just three weeks until the midterm elections.

It was a rough week for economic data. Inflation was hotter than expected and mortgage rates hit a 20-year high. President Biden said on Thursday that “If Republicans win, inflation’s going to get worse. It’s that simple.” The shows were booked with economic advisors who are going to have to explain how that is possible.

  • Betsey Stevenson, professor of economics and public policy at the University of Michigan, will appear on Face the Nation
  • Cecilia Rouse, White House economic adviser, will appear on State of the Union
  • Jared Bernstein, White House economic adviser, will appear on Fox News Sunday
