Home Prices Jump 11.2% in January

Home prices jumped again as price appreciation continues to remain above double-digits according to the latest data from S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller Indices (CL)

  • Y-O-Y: The annual Index reported an 11.2% annual gain in January. This was up from 10.4% in December.
  • M-O-M: The seasonally adjusted index saw a 1.2% increase from the previous month.

ANALYSIS: Craig J. Lazzara, Managing Director and Global Head of Index Investment Strategy at S&P DJI, said in a statement, “The trend of accelerating prices that began in June 2020 has now reached its eighth month…January’s data remain consistent with the view that COVID has encouraged potential buyers to move from urban apartments to suburban homes…”
